    LOOKING FOR A FUN ACTIVITY
    AFTER THE PARADE?

Home brewing and St. Patrick's Day go hand in hand! Did you know that the tradition of brewing beer in Ireland dates back centuries? In fact, beer brewing was so important in Ireland that St. Patrick himself was known to have brewed his own beer.

Not only is home brewing a great way to create unique and personalized beer, but it also has several benefits that make it worth trying out. For one, it's a cost-effective option compared to buying expensive commercial beers. Additionally, you have full control over the ingredients, allowing you to customize the beer to your liking.

Home brewing is also a healthier option, as home brewed beer does not contain any preservatives or additives that can be harmful to your health. Plus, you can experiment with different flavors and ingredients to create healthier beer options, such as using organic or gluten-free ingredients.

If you're a beginner in home brewing, don't be intimidated. Start with a simple recipe like the one below and gradually experiment with different ingredients and techniques. You can even join a home brewing club to learn from experienced brewers and meet new people who share the same interest.

    HERE'S A SIMPLE RECIPE
    TO GET YOU STARTED:

    Ingredients:

    1 gallon of water

    1 lb of malted barley

    1 oz of hops

    1 package of yeast

    Instructions:

Heat the water in a large pot until it reaches about 155°F.

Add the malted barley to the pot and stir.

Let the mixture steep for about an hour, stirring occasionally.

Strain the mixture into a clean, sanitized growler or jug.

Add the hops to the growler or jug.

Cover the growler or jug with a sanitized lid and let it sit at room temperature for about a week.

After a week, add the yeast to the growler or jug.

Cover the growler or jug again and let it sit for another week.

After the second week, your beer should be ready to drink!

Home brewing can also be a fun social activity. Invite your friends and family over to help you brew and taste test your beer. It can be a great way to bond and spend quality time together. To make it more festive for St. Patrick's Day, consider adding some green food coloring or shamrock-shaped stickers to your growlers or jugs.

Did you know that St. Patrick's Day is one of the busiest days of the year for beer sales in the United States? Home brewing your own beer is a great way to celebrate this festive occasion while avoiding the crowds at bars and restaurants. Plus, you can create your own unique beer that's perfect for the occasion.

We're still celebrating St Patty's Day! It's not too late to invite your friends over this weekend, grab your favorite green outfit, get creative, and start brewing your own delicious and unique beer for St. Patrick's Day and way beyond! I mean, any day can be a holiday and time to get our beer on!
